About Thorsten Grambow

Born in 1977 in Heidelberg, Germany, Thorsten Grambow grew up with an enthusiasm about capturing what he was fascinated about by drawing his own little creatures and other things he would see on TV and in his surroundings. After graduation from high school, Grambow studied illustration at the Bildkunst Akademie Hamburg, Professional School of Illustration, Germany, and completed his degree in May 2004.

Before moving to the United States, he decided to bridge this period of time by working as an intern in the advertising sector. The agency that he started working for, Sonnenberg & Teynor, located in Mannheim, Germany, provided him with a profound base of design concepts and important insights into the advertising world.

After working for a young, ambitious graphic-design agency called ACES Design in Maine, U.S.A in 2004 and 2005, where Grambow gained further skills and qualifications in the design business, he decided to embark on the career he had always envisioned - freelance illustration.

Thorsten Grambow worked on numerous illustration projects with publishers like Five Star located in Waterville, Maine, design agencies like Sonnenberg & Teynor in Germany. Each of his artworks is done digitally, designed from scratch to finish with Corel Painter, Photoshop and his Wacom graphic-tablet.
